Special at Tate Britain: ’How do works of art make you feel?’

Date and time

Sun, 18 Mar 2018 15:00 - 17:30 GMT

Location

Tate Britain

Millbank London SW1P 4RG United Kingdom

Description

Join the Talk for Health's resident art expert for a tour of Tate Britain with a T4H twist!

Stephen Bush is an art historian and after the success of his previous tours we are delighted that he has agreed to do another one for us.

Stephen will guide us to a few carefully selected paintings which will be the springboard for discussions on art and feeling, rather than art history. We will explore the feelings that the paintings arouse in us and how we think the artist has achieved that. We will discuss if art is about feeling and should it take us in to or out of ourselves. We will also have time to explore our responses as a group.

This is a repeat of a 'Special' last year. Anyone who attended then is welcome to come again, but please note one of the works of art discussed will be the same as last year.

We have to keep the tour group small, so this special is open to Talk for Health graduates only and we have limited free ticket sales to one per person.

This is sure to be an inspiring and interesting special with very limited space. Please only book if you are certain you can attend.

If you have booked a place and can no longer attend please let us know as soon as possible.

Practical info: The venue is Tate Britain (NB not TATE MODERN). The nearest tube station is Pimlico (Victoria line) but Westminster (District and Circle line) is also within walking distance. The number 88 bus stops right outside the gallery. We will meet inside the Manton Entrance, which is in Atterbury St. It is a flat level entry and you can borrow wheelchairs and stools on arrival. There are currently bag checks in place at the gallery so please arrive by 2.45pm.
